It was supposed to b the day of my gynae appt to do the swab test. Appt time was at 1040am. I was still sleeping at 6 plus when I experienced some cramps in my tummy. I continued to sleep but the contractions started to b quite frequent wif an interval of 10-15 mins. I was awakened by the contractions & the cramps felt different from the occasional cramps I had during pregnancy. I woke darling up & told him abt it. We decided to observe 1st. However when I went to the toilet & saw some watery discharge which I thought was unusual, I quickly told darling it could b the labour symptoms.
This time was different from the 1st time I had Zenden. During my 1st pregnancy, my waterbag broke straightaway wif no pain at all & contractions only started in the hospital. This time round, it started wif contractions 1st.
We decided to go to the hospital in case I was really in labour. I took a quick shower, packed the remaining stuffs into my hospital bag as well as ate breakfast. We were at my parents' place to stay the nite b4 so Zenden was left in my parents' care. Darling drove & along the way, I was so nervous. Kept hoping that baby can wait until we reach the hospital.
Reached the hospital at ard 8am. Was brought to the observation ward. Changed into the hospital gown. After that my tummy was strapped up to the machine to test for contractions. The intervals were regular & the nurse confirmed that I was having labour symptoms. Darling was told to settle my hospital admission while I was being monitored.
Was oso told to pass motion b4 going to the delivery suite later on. My gynae, Dr. Liauw came to check on me. She helped to break my waterbag. She was saying that 1 of my waterbag membrane has broken & she would break the other 1 for me. She joked that baby cannot wait & wanna come out early as it was 3 wks+ earlier than my expected due date haha... Guess he dun wan mummy to b so tired wif a heavy tummy.
Soon I was brought to the delivery suite at 920am. Lay down on the bed to b monitored further for contractions & dilation. I opted for epidural this time round. Very nervous when the anesthesiologist asked me to arch my back & lay still while she injected me wif a dose. Can still feel the contraction pains while waiting for the pain reliever to set in. Darling came in after I was injected wif the epidural.
Soon the contraction pains were gone but could still feel the pain at the vaginal area as if something heavy is pushing against it. Very uncomfortable! I was getting more dilated as time passed. My legs were propped up & I was told to inform the nurse whenever I felt the pain at the vaginal area. She asked me to push when the pain came & oso taught me the breathing techniques.
A while later, Dr. Liauw came into the delivery suite & she got herself all ready. I was surrounded by the equipments. Cannot believe that I was actually going to give birth. So afraid & nervous though itz my 2nd time. When I was ready for labour, I was asked to push. Was encouraged by my gynae & the nurses to give my best. Darling was there throughout to give me his greatest support too. I was more aware of my surrounding this time as compared to the 1st time when I gave birth to Zenden. Really thankful for their support & words of encouragement which made my delivery process a smooth one!
I pushed wif all my might. In my mind was juz getting my little baby safely out. Wif a few pushes, baby finally slipped out at 1153am & a huge relief followed after that. Nothing beats seeing ur flesh & blood b4 u! Darling & I were so happy & touched! Many photos were taken!
Dr. Liauw did the stitching for my wound while baby was cleaned up & checked by his pediatrician. Baby was slightly premature as he arrives 3 wks+ earlier but luckily his pd told us everything was normal. He can b in the normal baby ward, really thankful!
Name him Rayden. Today, he finally turns 1 mth old. Had an advance full mth celebration for him last Sun. Looking 4ward to see him grow, juz like his brother Zenden. Rayden looked so alike to Zenden when he was a newborn. Both had dimples juz like daddy! Zenden has a dimple while Rayden has 2! :) The most important of all, hope both will grow up to b healthy & of good character. That's my grestest wish! =)
